A History of Sola Gratia Kennels
Abigail has been showing, training and breeding dogs for 13 years. She began training and showing her family's whippet in Junior Showmanship at age 12 (she later earned an AKC obedience title as well). When Abigail was 14 she purchased her first competition dog, Ch. Foxford Tommy Beresford. It was this dog that truly began Abigail's fascination with dog exhibiting, training and breeding. Abigail now lives in Birmingham, Alabama with her husband, their dogs, various client dogs and usually some rescue foster dogs. In addition to showing, training and breeding dogs Abigail has seven years experience working as a veterinary technician and now works full time as a professional dog trainer.
Sola Gratia Kennels strives to exhibit and produce dogs that are rich in breed type, the epitome of health, and have lovely, solid temperaments. We are firm believers in health and temperament testing all of our breeding animals as well as achieving AKC titles and championships on our breeding animals. We have very high standards for the breeding of our pets and because of that, we have very high standards for the homes they go in to. Please refer to our breeding/puppies page for more information on applying for one of our dogs.
Some of Abigail's most memorable moments in dogs are winning junior showmanship at the 2000 National Whippet Specialty, finishing her first home bred champion, having Tommy walk down the aisle as the ring bearer in her wedding and having Eden go RWD at the 2010 National Whippet Specialty.
Abigail cannot imagine life without these wonderful animals and enjoys every moment she is fortunate enough to spend with and for them.
